New Music

I've already used up my downloads from emusic this month so it's already time to update my mp3 player. Here's this months downloads:

Porlolo - Storm and Season - I downloaded this cd because of a recommendation from CD Baby with this description "Porlolo is watery and dark, feeling and mysterious-- a wide-eyed yet whimsical look at the cracked earth of a by-gone day." After listening, I will be buying the new cd "Meadows" soon.

Dr Dog - Fate - Did not know who Dr. Dog was until I saw them open for Wilco last year. Glad i know who they are now.

John Mellencamp - Life, Death, Love and Freedom - I've always like Mellencamp. This is a dark, somber, melancholy cd, just my kind of music.

I also added the following cd's that I already had to my mp3 player.

Tinariwan - Aman Iman: Water is Life - Sometimes I get bored with everything I'm listening to and want something totally different. I don't understand a word that's being sung since it's in Tuareg but I like it.

John Flynn - Dragon - Came across this on CB Baby a couple of years ago. If you don't listen to any of the songs from my playlist at least listen to Only One. It is one of my all time favorite songs and very seldom do I listen to it without crying (making it kind of embarrassing to listen to at work).

Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - Streetcore - If you don't know who Joe Strummer is then I'm not going to bother telling you. This was his last album and was actually finished after his death.

Wolfgang Parker - Hep City Swing - a friend just gave me this cd so I haven't burned it yet, but it will be going on my player. Punk Swing, how can you go wrong with that.

I'm also trying out a new music player here. It's from a site called MediaMaster that let's you upload your own music and let other people listen but not download. All the music I've listed here is on it except for the Wolfgang Parker. Take a listen and let me know what you think
