If you've read many of my post, you've probably noticed that I tend to get a little sarcastic sometimes. When asked about this, I always explain that sarcasm is an official part of our family values. When Latisha was a senior in high school, we had a class at church to help prepare parents and kids for when they went off to college. As part of that class we had to sit down and come up with our core family values. It was an interesting little exercise and I thought I'd share ours, so here they are:
Prayer is essential
God should be the focus of your life
God expects our best
Remember who you are and what you stand for
Choose your mate thru prayer and God's help,
because marriage is forever
Family is a safe haven from the world
Friends are family
Humor helps in almost all situations
Work is a necessary evil,
make it a means to an end not an end in itself
Sarcasm is an essential communication tool
Question Everything
Life is full of music, sing along when you can
